  • This is a necklace that can be draped in a number of ways. Because it is one, continuous strand of natural, cultured, freshwater pearls, it can be worn as one long single strand necklace, or a double stand, or even a choker with a long strand.

  • The slightly baroque pearls have a hint of pink tinge and also have a white tone. They are not completely uniform but have subtle contrasts. They are 8.9 mm with a good amount of lustre.

  • I have interspersed the pearls with a variety of stones in varying sizes and colours.

  • There are three flat, squares of faceted blue chalcedony at 12 mm.

  • There are two nuggets of a good yellow citrine (9 mm).

  • There are two larger, paler, faceted stones of citrine (23 mm).

  • There are two sky blue nuggets of chalcedony (8 mm).

  • There is one, vintage 18K gold on silver on hardened resin bead (14 mm), made in Afghanistan, using the ancient technique passed down from Alexander the Great’s artisans.

  • The over-all effect is quite charming.

  • A 14K gold vermeil toggle clasp has been used because toggle clasps are easy to use and secure. My silver name label is attached at the clasp.

  • The necklace comes, like all my necklaces, with its own colour co-ordinated silk brocaded pouch bag, made by a Shanghai tailor.

  • Length 104 cm.
