  • Richly decorated, vintage, 18 ct gold on silver pendant with carnelian intaglio;

  • The carnelian has a glow to it in its rich “ox blood” colouring;

  • The carved intaglio is of the winged horse, Pegasus, a symbol of poetry and wisdom;

  • It is set into a finely carved 18 ct gold on silver pendant, made in Afghanistan; Its frame has a floral decoration, while at the back, a dear prances in the forest, framed by a Greek key design;

  • The pendant is 34 mm x 29 mm with the addition of the bale which allow it to hang; 4 mm carnelian beads are attached to the bale and the actual necklace

  • Vintage 18 ct gold on hardened resin etched beads (12.4 mm), made in Afghanistan;

  • These now rare beads came from the tradition of Alexander the Great who’s craftsmen brought to Afghanistan their gold making techniques, using 18 ct sheets of gold on hardened resin beads and shapes;

  • The warmth of this gold, and the charming workmanship brings a lovely patina to a necklace.

  • There are two, vintage nephrite jade bead, which are slightly calcified; These are carved, open work barrels (18 mm x 13 mm);

  • The jasper, is like what the Chinese call “ox blood” in colour (25 mm x12 mm) 

  • Cloudy, slightly faceted, vintage rock crystal cylinders  (24 mm x 12 mm) have wear and inclusions, which give a texture and authenticity to the stones; The imperfections are part of the gem;

  • Knotted silk/polyester cord with the traditional Chinese “flat knots” and “button knots”;

  • Vermeil toggle clasp, secure and easy to use; My name label is attached at the clasp.
