  • I imagine Picasso jasper got its name because it reminded someone of the artist’s abstract, modernistic aspect. The extraordinary varied patterns created naturally by nature, always surprise me…as if someone has come in and drawn these lines on the stones. But it’s nature at work.

  • This is intended to be a simple, easy to wear necklace.

  • I have made a comfortable necklace of these grey/black jasper discs 28 mm in diameter and 7 mm thick and contrasted them with handmade, sterling silver discs at 2.5 cm and 10.8 mm thick. These silver discs are made by craftsmen in China in which they mould sterling silver over pebbles.

  • A silver toggle clasp has been used because toggle clasps are easy to use and secure. My silver name label is attached at the clasp.

  • The necklace comes, like all my necklaces, with its own colour co-ordinated silk brocaded pouch bag, made by a Shanghai tailor.

  • Length 46 cm.
